SHA – Safety, Health and Working Environment

SHA is a statutory framework designed to ensure safe working conditions, prevent unwanted incidents and accidents, and support proper planning in construction projects.

The client/developer has the overall responsibility for ensuring that SHA is safeguarded throughout the entire project, including the preparation and follow-up of the SHA plan. The client/developer may appoint a client representative to carry out the client’s responsibilities in practice through practical follow-up, coordination and monitoring of the SHA plan.

We can assist the client/developer in fulfilling the role of client representative.

Coordinators

The Norwegian Construction Client Regulations require SHA coordinators for both the design phase and the execution phase when several parties are involved. We ensure that risk factors are managed systematically and that the SHA plan is followed throughout the project.

Coordinator in the design phase:

We integrate risk assessments obtained from the design process, document critical conditions and ensure that the SHA plan reflects the identified risks of the project.

Coordinator in the execution phase:

We follow up the SHA plan on the construction site, coordinate activities to avoid conflicting risks, and ensure that safety measures and the flow of information function optimally.
